RE-REBOOTING... REBOOTING AGAIN...Prep Day!! 10 DAY REBOOT!!!

HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!


So I went from 303.10 to 276.7 which was a 26.4 lost. Great I had a few hang ups I had to start eating fish and chicken but for the most I believe I did great for 26.4 pound lost in 2 months.


Now we are here again. I weighed in this morning and since my reboot and cruise to Cozumel and being a supervisor, a worried daughter, over protective sister, a mother of a senior high school, a student holding down a 4.0 and snacking while I study, a long distance girlfriend, oh and a human I have gained alot of my weight back and I weigh 292.9. Yep, and I'm not shame about it because my world has completely changed since i started my diet, my classes and my new role as a supervisor.
 
Today I will be getting all my fresh fruits and vegetables and going in again!!!! This time I will be exercising, juicing and eating fish and chicken. So I am setting the goal of a 10 day reboot before my birthday. I know that on March 8, 2014 we will have a dinner and I will eat my heart out then.  It may be harder this time since when you work out you actually gain muscle but for 10 days lets just see. After my birthday party I will pick this back up and go full force for 30 days lol!!!! So even though it will not start until Monday i wanted to get my blog back going and get back self motivated for next week.

DAY THIRTY: HALF TIME!!!!

30 DAYS OF JUICING
30 DAYS OF NO MEAT
30 DAYS OF NO BREAD
WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since its been 30 days, that means 2 quarter down and two more quarters to go.

Best Monday I have had in a long time LOL! I woke feeling accomplished. Like if there was a mountain and an elevator I would get on the elevator get to the top of the mountain and then scream. I sure would!!!!!!!
Now i know you didn't think i was running up the mountain???? Yes I would LOL!!! I am happy. I am making myself happy. Influenced and Motivated by me! I haven't really told alot of people in my family back at home. I'm known for starting and stopping diets and this one i wouldn't really call a diet. This one is a journey of taking control and making better decisions with my health. Like Joe said Rebooting your life. Think before you eat. Planning out if you do eat something full of carbs and sugar that you wash that bad boy out with water and exercise. Or change up what you eat the next day to balance out the calories. Yes all this came from me I thought of it LOL!

So tonight one of my co workers treated me to a meal. I love Chipotle's Grill. So what better way to start adding meat then to get a Grilled Chicken Bowl there. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duh Tam. Do you know what all they add in their cooking!!! OMG! I was enjoying the lettuce, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers oh and the guacamole but I be damn each bite of the chicken made me wonder if it was getting stuck in my belly!!!!!! All I wanted to do was juice for the rest of the night to flush that chicken out of me!!!!!  I am going to bed real early tonight ....I am not ready!!!!!

DAY TWENTY NINE: TEMPTATION!

Today I had to work overtime at my job and what does my job love to do... FEED US! Woo!!! I brought my juices up to work of course and everyone had pizza and sandwiches left and right. I just kept telling myself.. Tam, bread will clog your soul. So I drank, I drank and drank... Day Thirty was tomorrow I couldn't fail this no way!!!

DAY TWENTY EIGHT: Bedrest

So I got my new king size memory foam bed last night.  I got 600 thread count sheets and a beautiful 12 piece comforter set.  Omg what a treat.  So I slept in late this morning to allow the swellen go down in my ankles.  I think the salt in the soybeans I got for protein may be a bit much for me. Plus I noticed being on my feet a long time still makes my feet swell.  I think this will change when more weight is lost. Oh and guess what....NO MORE SNORING!!!!! So when I saw my ankles looked good I jumped on the scale and.... 281.4 wooohooo!!! 22 pounds down almost in the 70's family!

DAY TWENTY SEVEN: Gotta Krank it UP!

So... its has been 27 DAYS WOW... No meat.. No bread. I feel good just gotta drink more water!!!! I havent weighed because i dont want that scale to say I have gained. I have been eating salads since the day after my BP was low. I mean it feels good to eat them but I am so worried that I am ruining all my work. On Day 30 I will start doing the full workout with the eating a meal with Protein.. you know Tilapia and all that. I want to get out of the 80's I really do this is where I always stop. I mean I feel great but I been here before so, I will krank it up and lets see what the results will be next Friday...

DAY TWENTY THREE: I "SEA" FOOD... (TILAPIA IT IS)

Juicing with no protein!!!! Not good!!! My blood pressure Saturday was 98/55 thats low for me. 

 Protein is fundamental for your body, giving you energy when carbs and fat run out, building lean muscle tissue, giving structure to all organ tissues and playing a big role in brain function. Tilapia and many cuts of chicken are lean protein sources, so you won’t have to stress about destroying your diet. Both tilapia and chicken have about the same amount of protein, but some types of chicken have slightly less. No matter which one you prefer, you’ll surely pack plenty of protein into your diet.

 
 
 

Crispy Baked Tilapia

Serves 4
Enjoy the crispiness of fried fish with a simpler and healthier recipe. Toasted panko bread crumbs (crunchier than traditional bread crumbs) create a flavorful coating for tilapia fillets, but the mixture could also be used with other fish, like salmon. Adjust the cooking time based on thickness of fillets.


Ingredients: 
  • 2/3 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for the pan
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 (5 ounce) tilapia fillets

Method: 
Spread bread crumbs on a rimmed baking sheet and place into the oven. Preheat the oven to 425°F, toasting bread crumbs while the oven preheats. Timing will depend on the oven, but it should take about 5 to 6 minutes. Remove the baking sheet when bread crumbs are lightly golden, stirring once (watch carefully so crumbs don't burn).

Meanwhile, stir together lemon zest, oil, basil, salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Stir in toasted bread crumbs and mix until evenly blended. Brush the baking sheet lightly with additional oil.

Pat fillets dry with paper towels. Coat both sides of fillets by pressing into crumb mixture in the bowl and then place them onto the oiled baking sheet. Press remaining crumbs on top of fillets. Bake until fish is opaque and flakes easily, about 15 minutes.

Per Serving:220 calories (60 from fat), 6g total fat, 1.5g saturated fat, 70mg cholesterol, 380mg sodium, 10g carbohydrate (2g dietary fiber, 0g sugar), 31g protein

Bras are way too expensive..


Ok now that I got all that out the way. Swellen is down got all that salt out my body so what did i do? Right I hopped on the scale. 283.4 Woo Woo!!! Woo Woo!!!! You go girl!!!


Yes I am a few ounces away from a 20 pound weight lost and this feels good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAY FIFTEEN: End of First Quarter!

15 DAYS

Purple Passion
Well things are starting to loosen up in here so hopefully I can have better results on the scale. Fourth of July was horrible but today I am feeling better. Today I went Purple!!! I found out I been going too hard on this diet thing when I ran across the doggone DIET PLAN.. SMH you can GO RED, GO ORANGE, GO GREEN and GO PURPLE. Starting next week I will start using the actual plan but hey I have lost some weight so I must be doing something right!!!

So today I made the Purple Passion which calls for:


30 purple/black or red grapes

1 basket of blueberries
1 handful mint 
I will tell you this.. I used cilantro instead and I used way more grapes!!! But it was delicious!
 
Since its been 15 days, that means 1st quarter down and three more quarters to go.

DAY FOURTEEN: Empty and Ready!

So after the relief I told my son I was jumping back on that scale and damnit I did. and it said........... 285.4!!!! Woohoo!!!! I had the energy as well so what did I do? I went to my Zumba class at LA Fitness!!! I am feeling great! I know that I will not lose a pound a da.. I know this.. But to still be losing is a winner! I have read on some of the forums I am in that people are juicing and not losing anything.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT AT ALL!!! I Don't know what they are doing or not doing.. but umm I am juicing and loosing!! Woo! So maybe they are gaining the weight I am losing LOL!!!!! What I have been doing lately is looking at people my height and the weight I would like to be. Just to get an idea of what I am working towards.. I really want to lose 100 pounds really. my high school weight. 185... that would be nice to get back to. My short term goal is 250.00 then 215... then 180... but not to feel like I could fail I rather just leave the weight lose tracker with the goal of 215.
I had more energy so my boyfriend and I decided to go the Grand Prairie Texas Premium Outlet. Funny thing is this outlet is brand new and I live across the highway from it but never been. I know I know but today was the day we get our butts out the door and go see what it had to offer. OMG It felt good to walk the outlet knowing that I am feeling, looking good and doing good. I went to my favorite store the COACH Outlet and just smiled. I knew one day i would be back!

We had more fun trying on crazy shades and then going to some Kitchen Store and putting new kitchen appliances on our wish list!!!! Especially under the Rachel Ray's stoneware.  Yea I want it all in red!!! LOL! I know once this challenge is over I will be doing way more cooking than I have ever done!! And I really cant wake to make all types of healthy dishes..

DAY THIRTEEN: A new way...

I want to do this...

I read that fresh juice right out of the juicer is best, but it’s not always practical, right?  And I don't have the time to be juicing several times per day.  So I want to make a batch of juice ahead of time and store it for later. I want to keep my juices for up to 24 hours.

The biggest concern for keeping juices fresh is oxidation.   During the juicing process, fruits and vegetables are broken open and their enzymes and other nutrients are released from the fiber.   When the juice is exposed to air it gives up an electron to the oxygen in the air, thus oxidizing the juice and making it less nutritionally stable. So, if I can reduce the amount of time the juice is exposed to the air and seal it up quickly I have a better chance of keeping the nutrients intact.


Hot Tips!
*  add 1/2 to 1 lemon to your juice recipe.  Lemons contain antioxidants and citric acid which discourages oxidation.
* Rinse your juicer (at least the basket) between recipes to keep the flavors separate.
*  Each jar holds 2 16 ounce serving (32 oz).  Do not drink half and then put it back in the refrigerator.
* You can flash freeze juices following these instructions.
* Glass jars are most ideal.

DAY ELEVEN: WIW more like WOW..constipated..

So I had a feeling I would not be happy today. I only lost 1 pound since the last time I snuck on the scale which was Saturday. I see its 2 ounces that means I either gained and lost it over the last 4 days or I just didn't lose it at all. I have been dehydrated the last few days so I know for a fact that now I am not drinking enough and I am not drinking enough juices!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear so I didn't lose it the key but damnit I was not ready for the plateau this is always the weight I get stuck on and right now I am a lil upset. With any diet I get to 28_ something and I stop!!!! I lose motivation I just stop. I cant and wont stop but damn I am hungry and not losing!!!! Im human so of course I am upset. But let me go prepare my juices and figure out my new plan.........................................fighting tears...


NO wait I did measure tho...lol here is my new weight and inches compare to last weigh in and first weigh in.

DAY TEN: I'M ON A DAMN DIET!

TEN DAYS

Energized!!!! Today marks 10 days and alot of people stop here. I got 50 to go... and Lupe has 20 to go... So today I am feeling the energy I think i will walk today after work or on lunch. Its not that I am tired of juicing its that I am tired of the same tastes and that first taste I cant quite find anymore... What kills me is people at my job..

LISTEN!!! I was doing my body crazy for more than 2 months try 20 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So 2 months of doing it right will be just find PEOPLE!!!! ENCOURAGE not DISCOURAGE.. GEESH!!!! RESPECT MY GREEN I AM ON A DIET!!!

DAY EIGHT: Relaxing & Reflecting & Realizing

Today I didn't get on the scale I had my son hide it. I really relaxed and reflected on what all I have planned for me and what is in store for me later.. I realized that we associate food with several things. If we go to the movies.. we eat. If we want to go out with the girls for a drink most likely.. we eat. If we want to we just want to have a couple night again... we eat. There is so much more that you can do besides eat.. Right now what I am seeing is that I am craving flavors not food necessarily. Just spices and flavors. I can't weight (wait) LOL!

I decided today to try out a new juice Beet Kale and all I can say is tasty!!! I love beets so this was nice and red!!!

DAY SEVEN: Soaking & Meditating

I woke up this morning and decided to soak in the tub. I had my candles and all  and of course one of my juices! I had my son hide the scale but I did jump on it. I wanted to see if I had moved down to the 80's family and I did! I lost one pound and weighed in at 289.6 Woohoo! Even though it is only a one pound loss its not a one pound gain!!!! So I know that I need to drink more juices and I only had 3 drinks on Friday and not enough water.

Today I stocked up and sorted all my fruits in vegetables... Wooooo what a new way of life!! I am really excited about the change. Now, this picture is not showing my cucumbers but I got a big container of those too!!!!

  • Bad morning... I had whipped up a juice called Tuscan Summer and it called for oranges and grapefruit which I love both but was was i thinking trying to juice the dang grapefruit peeling!!!! I had the worst drive to work that drink did not agree with me at all. I had to rush to work and put a lil bit of salt on my tongue to keep from gagging.. so I am not feeling well at the moment... I will try it again without the peeling duh!!! But for the most I have lost 8.3  pounds!!

    DAY THREE: Feeling a tad bit sluggish...

    I woke up this morning feelin real real sluggish and got on that scale again!!! I know, I know but shoot it was staring at me saying get on Tam! Get on!!! So of course I got on blind folded!!!!!!!!!!!!! No but seriously I did cover my eyes. When I moved my hand it said 296.6. Well I be doggone!!!!! Tomorrow is Weigh in Wednesday.  I know I should have waited. 

    Well today was ok I had Green Pinepple juice for breakfast. MexiCali for lunch and snack due to I was running late this morning!!! Got home and had the Mean Green Juice. Its not that exciting LOL but i did need to get my greens in! I also noticed that I have gotten use to the taste of kale and cucumber so thats real good. I was super tired today but i reorganized my refrigerator and put all my veggies in their own containers and brought a real cool fruit bowl so that i can have enough room for all my needs

    I love the presentation of food so I got a few small glass bowls and cups for my work space will post later...

    Day Two Continued...

    Ok lets back track...First I woke up late.. had to run to Kroger to get more apples this morning!!!  I had a MexiCali for breakfast then made my two batches of the Morning Green Juice and took them to work. I actually put the juices in the refrigerator and to my surprise 4 hours later they were not frozen!!! They were just ice cold. I expected the  juices to taste horrible but they didn't. Yay to that!!!  however, by 8 pm I was IRRITATED, TIRED, DRAINED!!!!! I went to the store 4 times today OMG!

    First this morning to get my batch for today, then at lunch to re-up on my stuff with Lupe, then I went to Fiesta to check out the prices of their selection... yes cheaper!!! Then my son says he hungry and needs a few things so I had to run back to the store just for him. When we got ready to take store trip number 4 I was ready to pass out. I realized then that I was super tired. I got home and snapped at everyone. I didn't want no one in the kitchen while I prepared my juice. Wooo I hated that feeling.

    So today I made the Taj Mahal for my night drink and with all that ginger it tasted like a ginger cookie shake!!! It burned my tongue and roof of my mouth!!! LOL not bad but not that good!!!!

    Well calling it a night!!! Sleepy!!!

    DAY TWO: Wow! Really?? No Way!!!

    Ok so I know they say don't weigh daily and I won't but I was just curious to see if all that flushing I did helped with all my swelling. So.. I get on the scale and O-M-G!!! It says 299.3... I got off and moved it to the other end of the bathroom just to make sure and... yes it said 299.3!!!! Which is a 3.8 pound loss!! Water weight I know it! But Yay for me. So I whip up 3 batches of juices for my breakfast, lunch and mid day meal at work. I will update later on how the juices taste after a few hours in the refrigerator.. O.o

    Spiced it up a bit

    So lets see.. I have been to the restroom twice and what a clean out!!! Goodness!!!! Right now just a lil irritated... I cooked for my family today and wasn't really into tasting it but by habit that's kinda what you normally do. I quickly cooked spaghetti with turkey meat and ran out the kitchen and told them they have to taste it on their own!!!! LOL Ok now that my blood pressure is down and I am not so stressed out about this juicer not being closed properly (LOL).  I decided to whip up my last batch for the night. 


    I wanted to change it up and try Mexicali from the Exceptional Juicing Magazine

     
    3 cups fresh pineapple chunks
    2 green apples, quartered & seeded
    1 lime
    1/2 jalapeƱo, ribs and seeds removed
    if desired
    1/4 cup fresh cilantro or mint leaves

    O.o ~False Alarm~ o.O

    Green Strawberry Juice

    Ingredients:6 strawberries
    1 apple
    6 – 8 leaves kale
    2 celery stalks



    So after making this batch of Green Strawberry Juice,  I decided to see if I could reuse the pulp.


     
    I clicked on the switch and OMG it would not come on. I was in panic mode!!! I have bought all these groceries to do this fast, got my mind right, did my measurements and the machine is not working!!!! OMG no way!!! I mean I cant put all this in a blender. I cant start over!!! OMG!!! So we moved the blender to several outlets and still not working.

    Now mind you I was just using the base to test the outlets to see if the bottom would turn. OMG!!! Not working. I got in the car and drove to the nearest Bed Bath and Beyond to purchase another one and in the middle of me checking out I got a call from my son that said my boyfriend figured it out. It was the damn safety. He figured out that I had not locked the juicer in properly and so the blender was not going to cut on. OMG so embarrassing. I told the cashier I won't be needing the new one and rushed back home... shoot I was hungry!!!!

    Morning Green Glory Juice

    Ingredients: 4 – 5 large kale leaves
    1 large handful of spinach
    3 romaine leaves
    1 cucumber
    3 celery stalks
    1 green apple
    1 lemon, peeled (You can leave the peel on but it will taste very bitter)

    My Reaction: Taste like Cucumbers and Vinegar Juice LOL!!!
    
    
    Washed all Veggies and Fruits and peeled the lemon.
    Ran it all thru the Juicer..
